Common questions

Face ID isn't working. Am I locked out?

No. If Face ID fails or isn't set up, tap to use your device passcode instead — the same one that unlocks your iPhone. There is no separate master password in Mo Guards, so there is nothing you can forget and be shut out by.

Where are my passwords actually kept?

In your iCloud Keychain — the same place Safari keeps its passwords. Apple encrypts them and syncs them between your own devices. Studio Mo runs no servers and never sees them.

I deleted the app. Are my passwords gone?

No. Because entries live in the iCloud Keychain rather than inside the app, they survive deleting and reinstalling, and they appear again when you sign in to iCloud on a new iPhone.

They didn't appear on my new phone.

Check that iCloud Keychain is switched on for that device: Settings → your name → iCloud → Passwords. Mo Guards can only see entries once iCloud Keychain is enabled and has finished syncing.

Why is there no password generator?

On purpose. Mo Guards is built for people who already have passwords and want somewhere sane to keep them. Adding a generator meant adding choices, and choices were the thing making other apps confusing.

I copied a password and now it's gone from the clipboard.

That's intentional — a copied password clears itself after about a minute so it isn't left sitting in the clipboard for the next app that looks. Copy it again whenever you need it.

Can I use it on my iPad?

Yes. Mo Guards runs on iPhone and iPad, on iOS and iPadOS 17 or later.

How do I delete an entry?

Swipe left on it in the list and confirm. Deleting removes it from the iCloud Keychain, so it disappears from your other devices too.
