Privacy policy

Ringlight collects nothing. There is no analytics, no account, and no network connection of any kind.

What Ringlight collects

Nothing. Ringlight does not collect, store, transmit or share any personal data. It contains no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers and no accounts.

What it reads, and why

To draw a highlight around your pointer, Ringlight reads two things while it is running:

Both are read through public macOS APIs, used only to decide where to draw and when to show a click flash, and are never written to disk or sent anywhere. Ringlight cannot see what you type, what you click on, or what is displayed on your screen.

Network access

Ringlight contains no networking code. It cannot connect to the internet, so there is nothing for it to send and no server for it to send it to.

Settings

Your preferences — colour, size, thickness and so on — are stored locally on your Mac using the standard macOS preferences system, and never leave your computer. Removing the app and deleting the folder ~/Library/Containers/com.studiomo.Ringlight removes them completely.

If you email support

If you write to support@studiomo.app, your message and email address are used only to reply to you. They are not added to a mailing list and are not shared with anyone.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Any version of Ringlight that begins collecting data would say so clearly before doing it.
